I'm in love

Sunday, 24 February 2013

Sorry for the lack of updates, girls!
I have a lot on my plate at the moment, plus work hasn't been kind to me. For the entire week, I've been waking up between 3.45am-5.45am to report for work and I only get home late at night, tons of errands to run the next day before reporting for work the following morning again :( Been clocking in less than 5 hours of sleep daily so you can imagine how tired I am now. Ugh I'm so not a morning person.
SO GLAD IT'S ALL COMING TO AN END. Gonna be resting to my best ability for the next 11 days haha.

Alright, time to share something happy, something lovely and something sweet!
My friends were all rushing to get married before the Snake year and I was so happy I got to dress up! Of course I'm also happy to see them blissfully in love, that goes without saying. I can totally feel the loveeeeee and connection between them when they gave each other a knowing look during the wedding. It's an exchange not understood by outsiders but it's an exchange of love noticed by bystanders. It's definitely not easy to meet your Mr Right among millions of "He's not tall enough", "Too skinny!", "Hmm.. Bulging stomach", "Ugh what a flirt!", sooooo appreciate what you have or...just don't waste anymore time!

The next one will DEFINITELY be better.
Sorry, I'm just realistic and practical like that.

Anyhow, weddings!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week ahead!

3 "e"s

Friday, 15 February 2013

HELLO!
I've something funny to share with you girls today hahahahaha!

I received an email from a dude named Michael Green informing me that he's been receiving emails from my readers asking him tons of fashion/beauty/travel related questions he has no answers to, for quite a while now.

Hahahahahahaha!!

To be honest, some of my family/friends made the same mistake of sending me emails to msgreen@gmail but I've always thought the address belongs to a female
or it was an unattended email account because I've never received any forwarded emails to my account
(funny why I think he would know my email address),
neither did he forward it back to the sender to inform - NOT AGAIN. WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS!!!!

THAT'S WHY I never received emails when some of you told me you sent it to the intended address.

SO to stop my readers from erm, bothering Michael Green any further, my email
msgreeen@gmail.com
actually has 3 "e"s while Michael's has 2 "e"s.

Don't make the same mistake again okay? ;)

(Or should I change my email address?)

(Maybe you girls should just copy and paste.)

Happy Lunar New Year!

Wednesday, 6 February 2013

HELLO EVERYONE!
Today, my blogpost is unisex because I'm gonna be talking about hair!

As we all know, hair plays an important role in completing our look and I would never, ever head out of the house with wet hair like those Ah Lians on the MRT (hahaha bad inside joke between my colleagues and I). And to my boyfriend, his hair is like HIS LIFE. I remember once when we just started dating, I disturbed him by touching his styled hair in public (on one of the downward escalators in Wisma to be exact) and he got soooo annoyed with me which in turn made me annoyed with him for being annoyed with me hahahaha! Today, he's no longer angry when I touch his hair but he still minds. Vainpot.

That's a lot about my boyfriend's hair.

So anyway,  I'm very fortunate to have Essensuals @ Bugis as my new hair sponsor! I went for a haircut last week in preparation for CNY and I love my voluminous swish-swish hair now!

I know I'm very boring, always having the same cut
but I reaaaaally love my hair in one length at the shoulders!
To be honest, one length hair is not THAT easy to achieve.
Once, I had a slanted, uneven cut and I didn't even notice till someone pointed it out :(

(dress coming soon to TIPPYJESS)

See how perfect my hair is now thanks to my stylist, Wayne Tang!
To be extremely honest, this is one of the best cuts I have had in Singapore.
All the other salons I visited were pretty forgettable
and I'm not saying this just because I'm sponsored.

I'll be heading back again in a few weeks for a treatment + dye!
About time I let my jet black hair go.
Will keep you guys updated then! ;)

Since we're on the topic of preparing for CNY,
here's a lipstick red peplum top to prep you up!
As you can see, I'm very excited for CNY this year!
I think I've enough new clothes to last me through the entire 15 days ;)

I'm very honoured to be sharing with you Halo Lale's first launch at 8pm tonight!

Halo Lale, pronounced Ha-low La-lee, means to always be happy and thankful.
Happy for all the little moments in life that money can't buy,
Thankful and appreciative for all that we've been blessed with.

The butterfly, our logo, is an embodiment of our brand - to recognize our strengths and to embrace our fragility.
From a caterpillar that first depends on nature in order to grow, we too can learn to recognize our fragility and to grow from adversity, and to be as resilient. Finally, the caterpillar blossoms into a beautiful butterfly that gives back by displaying her beauty and brightening the day. We too hope that our customers will always embrace their beauty, and remain as curious and adventurous as the butterfly, going where the winds bring you.

The Halo Lale product line features timeless and classy designs in the Womenswear, Menswear (coming real soon!) and Babywear department (coming soon!). We take pride in our designs and aim to produce products that are both functional and fashionable. We ensure chic without compromising on quality.

No more boring peplum tops!
This piece with the intricate lace back design was specially designed for CNY
and I must mention - they definitely did not scrimp on the quality of the material used.
I am very impressed!

Halo Lale has a opening special for tonight's launch at 8pm!

Feb's Featured Bag

Sunday, 3 February 2013

Featured bag: Lady Dior
Size: Medium
Price: 2500
Colour: Dark Burgundy/Purplish-Brown with Rose Gold hardware
Bought in Paris, 2012

It was love at first sight when I saw it on the shelves in Galeries Lafayette! New arrival on that day and there was only one in stock. When I looked at it from far, I knew it wasn't black, nor was it brown, the colour was hard to define. Upon closer look, I realised the hardware wasn't silver nor gold either. Before seeing this colour, I was bent on getting the Lady Dior in black patent with silver hardware. But when I compared both colours side by side, tried on this and the patent black, this mysterious colour made me fall in love with it again and again. Plus the rose gold hardware was a bonus! Pretty rare to find such a combination if you ask me ;)

With constant persuasion from my friend and the itch to get a new bag, I caved in eventually.
(I'm logical 98% of the time.)

Pros
- It looks equally good when carried on the arm, in hand, or strap on shoulder.
- The length of the strap is P E R F E C T.
- Even though it's a classy piece, I have no trouble dressing down with it in shorts or glam it up with a formal dress for functions. Very versatile.
- Pretty good investment to me as this is a timeless piece and I can imagine myself still carrying it around when I'm 45.

Cons
- Patent bags always tend to attract A LOT of dust.
- Prone to scratches/fingerprints.
- The opening of the bag is very small which makes it difficult to retrieve items in the bag. Hopefully with more use, the leather around the opening gets seasoned!

After bags, my second favourite topic is of course, clothes!
Blu Sunflower sent me two light (in terms of colours and material) pieces of apparel which are so girly and sweet! Super love!

A simple top in this cutting is always a must-have.
The embellishments make it different from all the other basic tops you have in your wardrobe!

From hair to clothes, ombre is all the rage now.
I love the cutting of this dainty full lace dress, romantic enough for your Valentine ;)

Have fun shopping with Blu Sunflower!
