Shopping at L'zzie

Thursday, 16 October 2014

Helloooooo!
You might have seen this picture on my Instagram about this interactive fashion event I went with my readers/followers at L'zzie located at Central Mall, Clarke Quay! (L'zzie has another outlet at Bugis Junction by the way!) It was so much fun, guys! Getting to know my followers from reel to real and
learning a little more about them as persons other than an username, I really liked that!

We bonded over a dainty tea party, pretty apparel, a makeover and had tons of girly fun!

This glorious dessert table was baked and set-up by Temptations Cakes!

L'zzie had customised cupcakes that were in line with the themes of their new collection, namely Tokyo, London and Paris! Sooo cute, especially love the Japanese sushi ones!

After getting my hair and makeup done, I shopped around to look for clothes to dress myself in, and at the same time check out what they have in store because I was gonna be dressing my readers!

Anyway, a little about L'zzie the brand: L'zzie is a prominent representation of feminine executive wear in Singapore and you can find a wide range of work wear that is inspired by the romance of Parisian country side. Their designs speak of understated elegance and you can find lots of timeless pieces in the boutiques!

Like this piece I'm in ;)

Probably not suited for work since it's too sweet and dreamy with a layer of mesh but you cannot deny that this piece is romantic, girly and timeless. Did I also mention that all their apparel are self-designed and manufactured?!

The concept of the brand is feminine and romantic and you can see it everywhere in the store.
Lots of sweet pastel coloured apparel and appropriate display pieces
that will make you go ooh-and-ahh.

I met the owner, Liz herself that day
and she's a total advocate of her brand - very lovely and demure lady!

Expect to be taken to the major fashion cities as your browse through the racks in L'zzie!

With Melissa and Qiuting before the event

My invited readers - Tricia, Joyce and Michelle!
(Thank you so much for joining us that afternoon!! :D)

After learning a little about their professions and favourite colours to wear, I got down to work! Tricia was in a pinkish-nude top that day and I guessed that was one of her favourite colours to wear (colour looks good on her too!) so I decided to choose something in a similar shade for her. Thankfully L'zzie stocks a lot of neutral shades like this so that wasn't too tough a task!

One of the coordinates I put together for a casual look

Jackets in sweet pastel for something more professional looking

Joyce likes being in dresses and after trying on a couple, she decided on the same piece
I was wearing and I think she wears it better with her slim silhouette!

(Above picture is of me acting like I'm doing the makeover for the ladies but no lah,
was just applying lipstick hahaha wouldn't want to ruin their looks!)

Michelle has fair skin and apparel in a darker colour complements her very well.

After that day, I realised how fun it is to be a stylist/personal shopper.
It's like a dream career come true!

After our makeover!

L'zzie has recently gone through a revamp for their website (http://www.lzzie.com) and I promise you will love it.

Jakarta Jamming #2

Wednesday, 8 October 2014

Continuing on my first post on Jakarta which happened approximately 3.5 months ago... I have more restaurants and cafes to recommend you guys who are heading over!

To me, Jakarta is all about the malls because we were a little hesitant about heading out on the streets... I mean we are 2 ladies wandering alone after all. A friend did bring us to this shopping area where the locals shop...and I cannot remember the name of the place because it's in Indonesian oops. Anyway, we did want to go sightseeing and visit landmarks but *ding ding ding* there's nothing interesting to see. Our local friends had nothing to recommend and I tried googling to no avail so... we went mall-touring hahaha.

The most popular (and huge) malls for everything you'll need are Plaza Indonesia, Plaza Senayan, Senayan City, Grand Indonesia, Pacific Place, Mall of Indonesia, and Pondok Indah 2. You can more or less find the same brands in each place but I guess some of us would travel for the food.

Lunch was at a local restaurant located at Level 4 (I think?) of Pacific Place. Food was nothing to rave about so you don't have to know what's the name of the restaurant (actually I forgot, not because I'm not willing to share okay hahaha).

Honeydew juice which was quite nice

#eggwasafailure but the fried rice was good.

Fatiha said her bowl of noodles was too dry
and the fish soup tasted odd.

Then we adjourned to Pannacotta Etc for iced coffees and panna cotta, of course.
They have a variety of interesting flavours but I'm not a fan so can't comment!

One thing I cannot comprehend is, WHY THE CHICKEN SO SMALL???
We had ayam penyet at food courts and restaurants, and the chicken was never enough to satisfy.
Or is it our Lucky Plaza ayam penyet too big??

Some deep-fried corn thingy which was yums!

Eh I've no idea what's the name of this restaurant or where is it located
'cause our friend drove us there!
The samba was super spicy and shiok though!

Another pretty cafe *heart-eye emoticon*
Or rather, not just another pretty cafe because the food was awesome!

The Indonesians do serve pretty mean iced tea and this lychee tea
from The Goods Cafe was beyond good!
This started my iced tea frenzy haha

I was so satisfied with my portobello burger!
The mayo was perfect with the big, fat, juicy portobello and don't get me started on the bread...
I could eat it on its own as there's a slight sweetness to it.
My meal was perfect :D

Everything we ordered tasted pretty good so this is one cafe worth a visit!
You can find The Goods Cafe at most of the major shopping malls I mentioned above ;)

Gunawarman Street is like a hip area with fancy standalone restaurants/cafes.
We spent the afternoon at Le Cafe Gourmand
which is better known as the colourful ice-cream cones parlour.

Famous for their desserts so I guess it was a bad choice to order their savoury dishes
because their eggs benedict was a huge disappointment.

Save some stomach space for the sweets if you ever visit!

Pyjama pants kinda day

And the last restaurant we visited was highly recommended by our friend and now, me.
It's like a Indo-Western fusion restaurant?
Food was good and price was reasonable bordering on cheap.
We ordered a dinner set each which consists of a drink, an appetiser and a main course,
and it was only S$10 per person!!

Please visit Mangia at Grand Indonesia Mall level 5.

Of course I ordered lychee iced tea again!

This corn fritter thingy (appetiser) and the sauce were so yummy

And my mushroom and mayo (appetiser) were so addictive

My bowl of spicy chicken with fried rice and some fried bits was so good also.
Very generous portions and we had difficulty finishing everything
even though we wanted to because too yums.

And then one day after dinner, we went to queue for nitrogen gelato
at Ron's Laboratory (Grand Indonesia Mall)!
Cornflakes, nutella swirls and a syringe filled with strawberry syrup, I loved it!!
The cornflakes gave a very nice crunch and it was just...perfect :D

Sorry I took so long to share about the food in Jakarta but I hope you guys have fun there!!
Xx

On becoming Mrs

Saturday, 4 October 2014

So H and I got hitched exactly a week ago after one and half year of engagement! Life goes on as per usual after the wedding probably because our house is not ready yet so there isn't any big changes. And now, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new home, that's gonna be our next big project hehe :D

We jetted off to Boracay 2 days after the wedding as we wanted to go somewhere beautiful to just relax and do nothing after not having slept/eaten well the couple of weeks before the big day. It was fun while it lasted and we wish our mini (honey)moon never had to end.

Back to the daily grind immediately after touchdown (I had a filming in the airport upon arrival) but thank god for the long weekend!!

Our future is looking exciting and I cannot wait to spend it together.

What I am looking forward to are:
1) More quality time spent exploring new (healthy and wholesome) recipes in the kitchen
2) A meaningful learning journey about ourselves, each other and the world as we grow older and stronger as a couple
3) Finding joy and retaining that spark in every mundane duty we have to fulfill

Cheers to creating even more beautiful and happy memories, H!

I love you. Xx
