My First.

Friday, 18 July 2014

6 years ago today, I got my first Chanel bag.

Don't ask me what's up with that picture - I looked disgusting hahaha.

The reason why getting my first Chanel was so memorable that I had to have a picture taken was because I spent that July 2008 basic salary on it. My salary was credited after midnight and the next thing I know, I swiped the entire amount away with a debit card to pay for the Chanel PST. It was a 21st birthday gift for myself.

Ah, 21st.
Once that sweet young thing with the awful short bob and messy, uneven bangs I trimmed myself.

I was searching for these pictures, one picture led to another and then I went, "OMG I LOOKED SO CUTE LAST TIME! My skin looked so flawless and soft. I seemed to have more hair. I was less flabby. WHAT HAPPENED?"

Next week, I turn 27.

I guess we cannot be cute forever. Especially not when 6 years have passed.

Sorry for the digression.

As I was saying, I got sucked into the material world back then and it was hard to get out because Paris! Milan! London! Frankfurt! Rome! Big brands are easily accessible and may I add, at a HUGE discount of Singapore's prices so it was just handbag after handbag and I couldn't stop! (No regrets there by the way. I know many of you labelled me as materialistic, vain, yada yada, but I don't think you are in any position to tell me off because I buy with my own money, I'm not a gold-digger, H and my parents do not feed my material wants, and why should you be so concern with how I spend my money anyway?)

So now 6 years later, I am no longer using the Chanel PST, probably a maximum of once a year for the past 3 years. I have decided to pass it on to a new owner who will get more uses out of it. You are not just buying a secondhand bag; I am also handing over 6 years of memories to you. :')

I keep the bag in its original dustbag + box with stuffing after every use so it is still in superb condition. Caviar leather is very durable so there are no scratches at all!

#OOTD: Compilation

Sunday, 13 July 2014

How did time pass so quickly?? My last #OOTD: Compilation was in February which ended with an outfit I wore for H's birthday in mid-December 2013. Which means I have SEVEN months of compilation to catch up on, which equates to probably a hundred or more outfit pictures to be posted here...and I have already sold some of the apparel.

So I decided I shall not continue from where I stopped... Instead, I will feature some of my favourite outfits worn in the past half a year (haha).

All pictures taken by my most loving, most patient and most handsome fiancé, H. It's about time his effort gets recognized ya? Hahaha.

I call these special occasions' shoes.

Really love Topshop's jeans!

CNY Day 1 outfit

My favourite kinda casual.

Old but gold.

Okay, that's all I have for today!
That's almost 30 of my favourite outfits between mid-December to April :)
I will tryyyyy my best to make this a monthly update
so I can clear the backlog and make this more regular!

Lastly, a recent outfit from MDS Collections for a dinner date with H!
I find myself getting more and more attracted to their designs lately - good job there!

Food haunt of the month!

Sunday, 6 July 2014

Hellooooo guys! I found a new favourite place for brunch! It is none other than boCHINche under the Spa Esprit group which is the parent company of other favourite restaurants/cafes such as House @ Dempsey, Tiong Bahru Bakery, Forty Hands and Common Man Coffee Roasters. The popular Strip and Browhaus is under their beauty portfolio!

So boCHINche serves Argentinean cuisine...well, what IS Argentinean cuisine?

I looked through their brunch menu and spotted many familiar dishes
like eggs benedict, french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, etc.
But they also have lots, and lots of cheese for all you lovers out there!
(I'm not a fan. at all.)

Started my afternoon with an orange + grapefruit juice!

Heirloom tomato salad with burrata
(H said all the cheeses on the menu were good btw!)

I tried the Ricotta pancakes with berries and they were soooo good!
Can't taste the ricotta at all!

I love patty that's filled with seafood. Crab cakes, my favourite!
This was squid burger and it was just as yums!

BEHOLD THE YELLOW FIN TUNA
This was my favourite dish of the day!!!
I'm pretty sure Argentineans don't eat bak choi in their country
but oh man, this dish was so good with the crispy tofu.
The tuna. OMG, THE TUNA.

Erm bacon ice-cream?
I tried it and I think I'll stick to real ice-cream flavours haha.
I loved everything else about this dish.

You cannot go wrong with salmon and scrambled eggs!

I have taken a liking to drinks with mint in them
and the watermelon + mint juice was refreshing!

Favourite dessert of the meal - Creme brûlée with banana split ice-cream!

The chocolate tart wasn't sweet enough for me...

The passion fruit sorbet took sourness to a whole new level.
Thankfully the milk cake sweetened it and they made a great combi!

Creme caramel with crushed meringue

Overall, we agreed the quality of the food was splendid,
the fusion was seamless, and we loved most of the dishes.
Will we return again?
Definitely, especially when we feel like we deserve a treat!

In other food news, Cocotte the restaurant is partnering Singapore Dance Theatre
for this year's Ballet Under the Stars happening on 18-20 and 25-27 July,
and you can order a picnic basket to wine and dine at the event! ;)
More details can be found here!

The dishes were yummy and I especially loved
the Poulet Roti Sandwich and Cherry Chocolate Cake!

Abrupt end to this entry because I got to go.

Hope you guys had a lovely first half of 2014
and here's to creating more wonderful moments for the later half.
Have a great week ahead! <3
