Silver Mini Maddy Necklace
Silver Lucky Horseshoe Necklace
Gold Louisa Druzy Bangle

Chunky Green Agate Ring from By Invite Only

Most times you'll see me with minimal accessorising because I like my fashion jewellery either super loud or barely noticeable. The thing about loud accessories is that, they tend to go out of style fairly quickly and I feel sad when that happens because I would've only worn that chunky/colourful necklace maybe only once or worse, I haven't found an occasion to wear it yet.

I first found out about By Invite Only slightly more than a year ago and fell in love with the crystals and semi-precious stones (sourced in Hong Kong and Brazil) they use. The designs are classic, functional and the pieces I got from them a year ago are still so chic-looking to me now!

The latest collection featuring the Agate Studs in both gold and silver are my personal favourites. Especially for days when I am going for a sleek and clean look yet I need a pair of earrings (can't ever leave home without them!), the ear studs add a touch of sophistication without going over the top. The stainless steel base metal is tarnish resistant, lasts for a long time and would not cause any allergic reactions.

If you would like to get your hands on these exclusive handcrafted jewellery, you can check out their online store ( or make an appointment at their showroom at Paya Lebar Square to physically shop the products.

On My Birthday...

Sunday, 23 August 2015

I am officially in my late twenties + one month T_T
It is not so much about growing older... It's more of having to conform to society's requirements of what I am supposed to achieve at this age and then realise I'm nowhere near.

I have no idea why I'm not that big on birthday celebrations especially when my parents held birthday parties for my siblings and I when we were young. There was always a huge cake, nuggets, hot dogs, frozen fries and a table full of food. Funny how I don't care for birthday presents nor celebrate extravagantly on my birthdays when I'm all grown up. Probably because I don't need an occasion to eat cakes haha. As long as the day is filled with delicious food, I'm contented.

So anyway, the 25th of July fell on a Saturday this year and I had brunch at Artistry with my girlfriends! Food wasn't too bad overall, the best was probably the french toast.

The girls and I hung out a little more after brunch till it was time for me to head home to prepare for dinner with H. H made a reservation at L'Atelier Joel Robuchon @ RWS and we were both reallyyyyyy excited to dine there ever since that super awesome lunch we had at Joel Robuchon Tokyo exactly 3 years ago on my birthday too! We rarely splurge and indulge ourselves in such an expensive meal, probably once a year, so it was well-deserved!

I believe the restaurant bakes the bread in-house. I really enjoyed the croissants and sundried tomato ones!

H and I both ordered the Discovery Menu so we each had about 10 courses. There were some hits and misses but the thing about fine dining is, it doesn't matter what you serve me because I will finish everything even though I don't normally eat that certain food. For example, artichoke. Everything on the plate just tastes yummy I don't know why?!

This was probably my favourite for the night! Sea bream with caviar! I couldn't figure out what was that green web vegetable looking thing but it was awesome.

Said artichoke. Tempura style and it was aahhhmazinggg

Dessert was incredibly yummy. I especially love the chocolate dome!

Lemon madeleine to go with coffee/tea. This is definitely one of the best madeleines I've ever had, loved the subtle lemon flavour in it!

Anyway, I didn't mention or post pictures of our main dishes (quail for me, beef for H) because they weren't exactly fantastic and we did not enjoy them at all. Everything else was good though!

And that was how I spent my day! :D

Beauty Review: Lancôme Advanced Genifique

Sponsored Post

Have you ever wondered what makes a woman feel beautiful? Or what makes you feel beautiful? I have. For me, it is when I feel good about myself, exuding confidence from within, and having that glow on my skin. I believe every woman aspires to have youthful skin and possibly remain forever 21. My complexion at 21 was my skin's prime - it was smooth and firm, clear, radiant and supple with no fine lines. I simply love that youthful aura and I want it back! Don't you?

I am in my late twenties now and I have learnt - time waits for no man. Now, I have to rely on makeup to get back that radiant glow which I was spotted with some n years ago just because I was young.

Thankfully, I found the Lancôme Advanced Genifique range because its sole purpose is to make you and me look physically younger than yesterday!

The Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate is a Youth Activator that has scientifically proven its effectiveness in repairing and activating 10 visual and tactile signs of youth which are fine lines, coarse wrinkles, radiance, clarity, evenness, texture, resilience, tonicity, firmness and sageness.

It is the most essential step of my skincare regime now as the Advanced Genifique targets every existing problem I have that comes with ageing. This is the first product I apply on my face as it boosts the efficacy of any other skincare products I apply after, by up to 3 times!

Another aspect I like about the Advanced Genifique is the design of the bottle. With one twist, the dropper is loaded with the optimal amount of concentrate for application - extremely clever and convenient! I never have to gauge the amount of concentrate to pump again.

With its light watery texture, the concentrate is quickly absorbed into my skin, prepping it for my next skincare step. After using the Advanced Genifique for 2 weeks now, my complexion is visibly radiant, clear and rejuvenated!

It is an awesome time to try the Lancôme Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate for yourself now because the 30ml concentrate is retailing at a promotional price of $98 (U.P. $130) now till 31st August 2015 (while stocks last)!

You'd know I place a lot of emphasis on my eyes as fine lines have started forming a couple of years ago and I'm doing all I can not to worsen it. The bendable metal applicator of the Advanced Genifique Yeux Light Pearl was cooling on the skin and when I massage my eye contour in a up-down movement, it helps to smoothen wrinkles. Coupled with the rich and hydrating Advanced Genifique Yeux, I notice firmer skin around my eye area after a week. Hopefully with more consistent use and many bottles later, the areas around my eyes would start looking younger than yesterday like what the Advanced Genifique did for me!

#WIWT in Little India

Saturday, 15 August 2015

I especially love maxi dresses that are exaggeratingly long and flowy - it adds to the goddess factor when the soft and light fabric caresses my calves as I walk. I spotted this old and colourful book stand as we wandered the streets of Little India and decided that we have to take a few shots here because book stands like these are almost extinct in Singapore. It was a pleasant surprise that this beautiful mint dress complemented the background.

By the way, these posts titled #WIWT are not advertorials. I just really love these outfits I wore so we take additional close-up shots to feature them on the blog. I hope you guys enjoy the pictures! :)

Secure Your Home with iHome3 Peephole Camera

Sunday, 9 August 2015

It is no longer news that H and I have moved into our home but this newfound freedom we have been experiencing the past two months is definitely worth celebrating! Our bedroom and living area do not face any opposite blocks so it is extremely liberating not having to worry about peeping toms and the likes!

We are not living in a private property. So, to ensure maximum security for our home, H and I decided to get a peephole camera installed. He has been travelling regularly for work lately and I sleep alone on days when he's overseas. For a new neighbourhood, it is especially unsafe since not all residents have moved in yet, and there are still a lot of lurkers/workers/contractors around. I heard there is even a splash paint incident in the opposite block!!

Yes, Singapore might have low-crime rates BUT crimes are still occurring on a daily basis. Not publicised does not equate to a 100% safe country. Like how I would never leave my belongings on the table then leave to buy my food, I would not allow my home to be secure-less. Because you never know when you might be the next target.

So anyway, H and I ordered the iHome3 Wifi Smart Peephole Doorbell from Zenith Engineering. There are not a lot of peephole cameras available but we did our research and this is one of the best models in the market!

Zenith Engineering & Trading PTE LTD is a Digital PeepHole Viewer Specialist and Distributor who does sales of various models of digital peephole viewer to retailers and projects, as well as to individuals like myself. Installation services are provided by them too but to be honest, it is extremely easy to install the peephole doorbell so I'd say, DIY like what we (I mean, H) did!

What came in the package:

Why is this peephole camera the best, you ask?

Firstly, the peephole itself is already a security feature. With such a big and obvious peephole, anyone would know their presence is being recorded and they will actually think twice before trying to do anything illegal such as breaking into our house, etc.

The camera viewer replaced the old-school peephole and all we've to do is click the "Man" button to see who's on the other side.

Home screen - access pictures/videos taken of strangers/friends/ourselves under "Picture" and "Video". You can choose to switch on or off motion detection using "Motion".

The "Main Menu" icon will lead you to the above screen! You can choose to customise your preferences by clicking on individual icons.

Secondly, for every motion detected at the door, H and I will receive notification on our mobile phones in the form of an alert. This is especially crucial when both of us are travelling and we know we are not expecting anyone. If we want to identify the unknown character, H and I can immediately login to the live video screening on our phones using the app "Rollup"! From our phones, we are instantly logged on to see what's happening right in front of our home.

This is what the live viewing page looks like on the phone:

The iHome3 Peephole Camera works very well at night too with the infra-red night vision motion sensor. This is a screenshot taken at midnight on my smartphone with the remote viewing function. Makes for a pretty good evidence should it ever be required (but of course, that's H in the screenshot lol)!

Press the "man" logo (just beside the SOS button) and we'll see what's happening right outside. The camera detects motion up to 1.5m so our neighbours were captured at times!

Also, the iHome3 Peephole Camera is so much quicker and easier to install as compared to a CCTV on the ceiling. You can refer to the short clip above to learn how to install. The entire process only took H a couple of minutes to get it up and working!

Each fully charged battery for the iHome3 Peephole Camera lasts for approximately 7-10 days and I loveeeee that rechargeable batteries are used for this! Most of the other peephole cameras use disposable batteries which I don't think is as environmental friendly. Additionally, the battery holder is located at the top of the viewer which provides easy replacement and we don't have to remove the viewer each time a battery change is required.

Other functions embedded in the iHome3 Wifi Smart Peephole Doorbell you might be interested in are:
- 2-way video call
- SOS call to pre-set emergency number with a SIM card in the camera
- Runs on wifi connection
- Acts as a doorbell on top of being a peephole camera

All in all, H and I are very pleased with this new security gadget installed in our home. We feel very much at ease when the both of us are not in, and especially for H who knows I'll always be in safe hands when I am home alone.

I've always believe that security should be the number one priority for the home especially when most of us consider it as our safe haven. Hence, if you have always been thinking of getting some kind of security feature for your adobe, I would recommend the iHome3 Wifi Smart Peephole Doorbell or if you don't need the Wifi feature, you can consider the iHome 2 Peephole Doorbell which has all the same functions.

The kind people at Zenith Engineering are offering my readers a special rate of $288 (UP $368) for an unit of the iHome3 Wifi Smart Peephole Doorbell. To place an order, you can email them at or contact the owners at 82982157 / 9766 3890. Quote my name (Jessica Tham or tippytapp) when you place your order to enjoy this special price!
