Staying Cool with GRANA

Friday, 10 June 2016

I'll be honest - I love wearing long pants. However, most times I'm not seen in long pants or even a maxi skirt is due to the warmth and humidity we get in Singapore. You have no idea how often I change in and out of a pair of jeans/pants at home before settling on something above the knees because ugh, weather!

I'm excited to share the solution to staying cool is none other than wearing Chinese silk! I paired the Silk Ankle Pants in Off White and Silk Shell in Chocolate, both from GRANA. This is probably the first time I'm wearing delicate silk and the breathable fabric feels insanely luxurious on the skin, almost like second skin. The outfit kept me cool and my legs definitely do not feel suffocated!

One thing I love about GRANA (other than the fabrics they use) is the huge array of colours they offer. Depending on the colours you choose, pairing the same designs can give off a different feel or it can be worn for different occasions. You should head over to GRANA's Instagram to check out how others are playing with the colours - lots of inspiration there!

GRANA (https://www.grana.com) is offering 10% discount + free international shipping for all orders with the code "JESSxGRANA". The code is valid till 10 July 2016, so head over, get some colours and let's stay cool together ;)

p/s: I wear XXS for both the Silk Ankle Pants in Off White (Short) and Silk Shell in Chocolate.

SOIGNÉ's Second Collection

Monday, 25 January 2016

I know it's been a long wait but SOIGNÉ is finally ready with our second collection! Just in time for Lunar New Year too :) We mainly stuck to the mono/neutral colour palette but included a special lipstick red design just for this festive period. I'm gonna be wearing this dress on the first day of CNY - super excited!

But of course, we made it in our favourite black/white too hehehe gonna be keeping this piece as well!

From this collection onwards, we will be including size XS so measurements for sizes S to L have been adjusted, do take note! As a reference, I wear XS for all designs and it should fit UK 6 perfectly.

In other news, SOIGNÉ The Label is also stocked at Revolte x SheShops #02-02/03 at Wheelock Place. We will be there till June 2016 so if you prefer shopping at a brick and mortar store, you can head down to check out and try the selection.

Our new collection will be available for sale online today, 25 January in the evening so I'll see you over at SOIGNÉ! :)

If you're wondering, I'm still working from home because of the convenience of storing SOIGNÉ inventories over at EBC Storage! I love the fact that it's only a 10-minute drive from our place and that it's opened 24/7. H and I always head down at weird hours, sometimes even at past midnight to get stocks lol.

The unit I'm at has racks installed so at one glance, I know where each design and sizes are at. There's no clutter at home or at the storage space. Not only that, you have the option to choose whether you want an air-conditioned unit or one without air-conditioning depending on your needs. I store my inventories at an air-conditioned unit, of course. Wouldn't want the clothes to grow mould!

I'm so used to the system and convenience at EBC Storage I've extended my stay at the storage unit by another 6 months ;) SOIGNÉ is still a relatively new start-up so I understand that every cent counts. So trust me, the prices are very reasonable and it wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket.

You can contact EBC Storage here for more information!

Festive Gifting: Coach Watches

Monday, 7 December 2015

“A good watch should possess all the attributes that make something a classic:
dependability, durability and design integrity.
These are all things we consider when we think about a timepiece that bears the Coach name.”
Stuart Vevers, Executive Creative Director

It was only in recent years that I started to see watches as accessories. Before this, I lived with a $10 pair I got at Bugis Street because it was required for work. There was a lot of knocking and banging involved in an aircraft so I did not see the need to invest in a fancy pair and having to be careful around it. Slowly, I was wearing my work watch outside of work and it became a daily necessity. Only thing was, that pair of boring silver digital face watch was not exactly classy, stylish or complementing of my outfits. So I started shopping and looking around... And I'm proud to say I've now amassed quite a nifty watch collection with a variety of colours and style for different occasions.

The latest addition is this pair of rose gold(-plated) beauty from Coach - the Tristen watch. It is sporty looking, yet feminine and elegant with a hint of pink which I absolutely adore (rose gold is my favourite type of gold!). The Swarovski crystals accented bezel gives off a particular posh vibe, perfect for days when you are all dressed up and need some sparkles for your outfit.

We all need a pair of silver, classic watch for days when we have to be formal. Just like how you wouldn't wear crazy costume jewellery for a professional function, you wouldn't wear a bright yellow watch to meet an important client.

I picked out the delicate-looking Delancey watch from Coach due to its timeless design. The soft fluid bracelet complement the feminine look of this slender case design, I feel so dainty and ladylike wearing this! Also, silver on the wrist goes with everything.

I especially love men's sporty looking watches with brown leather straps. So it was love at first sight when I spotted the Bleecker Slim watch from Coach and I knew it was the ideal gift to get for H this Christmas. The navy coloured dial was a refreshing change from the usual monochromatic ones and I thought the 42mm case was the perfect size on H.

The above watches are from Coach FW15 Collection and are available for sale at Coach Boutiques and authorised retailers shop.

#wiwt: Love & Bravery

Tuesday, 16 June 2015

I haven't done a compilation of #wiwt in a while so I'll try to start the ball rolling again and hopefully keep up with the momentum!

Last month, I went down to Love & Bravery's Bugis outlet to pick out a variety of outfits which dressed me for a wedding dinner, weekend outings and styles suitable for both casual and events.

Wedges from Dorothy Perkins

Nude and cream are one of my favourite combinations for a soft, girly look for a date with my man.

Off-shoulder Top from TTR
Loafers from ECCO

Floral Top from One Daisy
Shoes from Taobao
Bag from Celine

I wore the Tennis Wrap Skirt on more than one occasion because I find it really easy to go with all my tops. I tried minimalist sporty with an off-shoulder top and then floral casual, both suitable for day-to-day errands.

Bag from Chanel
Shoes from LB

Bag from Chanel
Shoes from Seoul

I always love a flirty little dress that gives me the flexibility on dressing up or dressing down. I wore this to meet Yoon Eun Hye at the L'oreal media conference then for dinner with H on another day!

TTR Swing Dress
Shoes from ECCO

I am a big fan of vests and I sincerely wish SG's weather can be a little kinder so I can actually wear my outer wears and not perspire a bucket. Love the length, timeless design and colours of this piece. Not to mention, the pockets are the best accessories for picture-taking!

Clutch from ASOS
Shoes from Taobao
Earrings from Taobao

The luxurious fabric and elegant cutting make this the perfect evening dress to wear to a dear friend's wedding.

p/s: I wear size XS for all Love & Bravery apparel.

Also, cart out with "jessicaxlab8" for 8% off your LAB orders. Happy shopping! :)
